During a live broadcast, the Sound Mind Sound Body Youth Association (SMSBYA) announced its 2024 Season Schedule, participating organizations, and its first Spring Football League. The organization has achieved great success in its second year, including being the first youth organization to cheer at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater, state and regional rankings in both football and cheer, national rankings in cheer in December, and some of the teams adding national exposure to their list for the first time.
As SMSBYA celebrates its 20th anniversary during the NFL Draft this April, the organization is ready to gear up for another competitive year. As part of the NFL Draft events, SMSB student-athletes can participate in events organized directly by SMSB. This event will be a historic moment for the SMSB Foundation and the children of Metro Detroit, and it is expected to be unforgettable for many generations.
The Spring Football League, which will run from April 8 to May 5, will see the Eastside Raiders, Westside Cubs, River Rouge Panthers, Oldtown Ducks, Detroit Lions, Southfield Falcons, West 7 Rams, and Detroit Titans face off against each other. This league will allow student-athletes to sharpen their skills and get some playing time before the regularly scheduled youth football league.
The 2024 Season Schedule includes various events such as the Youth 7v7 Showcase, Cheer Showcase, League Scrimmage, Season Games, Cheer Competitions, City Championship, State Championship, Regional Championship, and National Championship. With such a packed schedule, SMSBYA is set to have an exciting and competitive year ahead.
