SMSBYA Recognizes Student-Athlete of the Month Jade McCain

We are thrilled to announce our overall September Cheer Student of the Month, Jade McCain!

Jade McCain, a 6U cheerleader for the WestSide Steelers, is also a kindergartener at Bradford Academy. As the only child, Jade’s leadership and independence are notable both on and off the field. Her great attitude, willingness to always help, and strong start to her academic journey make her an outstanding example of what it means to be a student-athlete.

“I have heard all the phenomenal reports from her mom since school started. She is always going above and beyond. Jade’s testing scores are amazing; she has scored above average on all her tests,” shared Timika Brown, Head Coach of the 6U cheer team.

Jade enjoys spelling and doesn’t hesitate to introduce herself by spelling her name. With hopes of one day becoming a ballerina, Jade has taken an interest in stunting and looks forward to becoming a flyer as soon as she can.

“Jade is a great listener and teacher during practice. She catches on very well and is always willing to help her cheer sisters where help is needed,” shared Timika Brown, head coach of the 6U cheer team.

As a fantastic student-athlete, Jade’s kindness throughout her team is an attribute her mother isn’t surprised by. “That’s Jade. Jade is always trying to help; she’s very hands-on, outgoing, and energetic,” shared Kenyaira Brown, Jade’s mother and number one fan.

We are so proud to have Jade McCain as an exceptional student-athlete of the SMSBYA. She embodies the qualities and enthusiasm for helping others and excelling academically and athletically that we aim to impart to all our young athletes.
