Max Ex, the Sound Mind Sound Body 7v7 travel team, spent spring break making rounds to several colleges with roughly 100 high-level athletes from the Detroit area. Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan, Wayne State, the University of Toledo, Central Michigan, and the University of Michigan were on the athletic program’s list of stops for the week.
The sound mind and life skills aspect of “SMSB” is vitally important to student-athlete development. College visits and tours significantly expand opportunities and a sense of self-motivation to attend college through strategic planning.
Access to exposures that will matriculate into success is always the mission for SMSB.
Continuing to maximize opportunities this season has driven SMSB to visit seven out-of-state colleges resulting in various scholarship offers from schools such as Miami University and Georgia Tech.
The Spring Break Tour’s exposure rendered in-state scholarship offers from five stops:
Antwon Thomas: Central Michigan University, Western Michigan University, The University of Toledo, Eastern Michigan University
Calvin Washington: The University of Toledo
Kamren Flowers: Central Michigan University, Western Michigan University, The University of Toledo
Xavier “TREE” Newsome: Eastern Michigan University, Central Michigan University, The University of Toledo
Elisha Durham: Western Michigan University
Rashad Jones: Central Michigan University
Lamar Fairfax: Central Michigan University
Jamer Henry: The University of Toledo
Students ended the Spring Break Tour by attending the Annual Spring Game at the Big House. One of the most talented corners in the country, Will Johnson, is an alum of SMSB and had a great first year and rock star performance in the Big Ten Championship Game.
