Passing and route running is the highlight of the 7-on-7 season, and Sound Mind Sound Body is yet again paving the way for football players to showcase their skill in a rare setting.
The 5th annual SMSB 7vs7 Detroit Showcase kicks off Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at Wayne State University July 12th -13th. With over 80 players with D-1 offers attending the showcase, the event has the largest talent pool throughout Michigan. In its fifth year, the 7v7 city-wide showcase has proven to be a distinctive football experience among any other showcase of its kind.
Highly-touted recruits across over 30 schools will get a chance to make an early mark in preparation for their respective seasons. No other football academy has created a back-to-back showcase of notable players and the best of the best coaches. Back-to-back State Champions, Belleville High School of division-1, Warren De LaSalle of division-2, and King High School of division-3 will go to Wayne State as powerhouse teams.
Many onlookers anticipate watching the defending champs and noting potential game predictions for the year.
Ahead of the 7v7 Showcase, Coach Rohn of De LaSalle shared, “The last three years, we’ve had a great run, Warren De La Salle. A couple of state championships and a runner-up.”
“Most of our focus has been preparation on the off-season competing in tournaments like this.”
“SMSB 7v7 tournament at Wayne State is one of those things that we look forward to that gives us a challenge to become better, to become great, and our challenge on the off-season every year is to become the best football team come November, and this is one of the trademarks that we need to establish to compete and be great.”
