Detroit, MI – Sound Mind Sound Body Youth Association is thrilled to announce its second annual Cheer Showcase at the Aretha Franklin Amphitheater, one of the top outdoor venues in the world. The exciting event will captivate spectators with awe-inspiring routines, cheer stunting, and immense enthusiasm Thursday, August 17.
This highly anticipated showcase will feature 1,000 cheerleaders from 10 of the Midwest’s elite organizations, including five 2022 AYC National Championship teams who competed in Kissimmee, FL: West Seven Rams 14u Cheer & Hip Hop Dance teams, River Rouge Jr. Panthers 12u Hip Hop Dance, Southfield Lathrup Falcons 8u Pom, and the Southfield Lathrup Falcons 14u Pom.
The unforgettable display of athleticism, passion, and teamwork makes for the best environment within one of Detroit’s historic venues capable of holding 6,000 guests.
The fundraising event is a celebration of the league’s camaraderie and supportive community ahead of another successful year.
Attendees can look forward to an invigorating showcase with diverse skills, including creative stunts, jumps, intricate tumbling, and strong vocals. This event provides an unforgettable experience for anyone who appreciates the artistry of cheerleading and those dedicated to supporting inner-city youth.

Sound Mind Sound Body (SMSB) services over 5,000 students and has over 1,100 volunteers who spend approximately 300 hours annually giving back to Metro Detroit youth. The after-school college readiness program empowers athletes to achieve excellence on and off the field while fostering character, leadership, and overall well-being.
