Detroit, MI – February 20, 2025 – The Sound Mind Sound Body Foundation is proud to announce that it has been honored with the prestigious Afterschool Excellence Award – Community Engagement by the Michigan Afterschool Partnership (MASP). This award recognizes innovative programs and individuals who have made a significant impact in their communities through exceptional afterschool programming.
The Community Engagement Award is presented to organizations that go above and beyond in connecting with and uplifting their communities. Sound Mind Sound Body Foundation was selected for its outstanding work empowering Detroit youth, building robust community partnerships, and delivering transformative out-of-school time experiences that foster academic achievement, personal growth, and lifelong success.
The Afterschool Excellence Awards will be presented at the MAC Annual Conference in Novi, Michigan, on February 28, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM. Sound Mind Sound Body Foundation will be recognized alongside other leading afterschool programs and innovators from across the state.
