The SMSB High School 7v7 Showcase at Wayne State University has become a cornerstone event in Michigan’s high school football landscape. Founded in 2004, SMSB’s mission is to increase the number of football student-athletes graduating high school and earning college scholarships, particularly in underserved communities. By combining academics, athletics, and life skills, SMSB has certified over 13,000 students and helped more than 1,000 earn college scholarships. The High School 7v7 Showcase at Wayne State University was launched as part of this mission, offering a non-contact football format that emphasizes passing, route running, and defensive coverage-allowing quarterbacks, receivers, and defensive backs to demonstrate their abilities in a fast-paced, competitive environment.

Over the years, the showcase has drawn more than 30 high schools annually, including defending state champions and powerhouse programs. • The showcase has consistently attracted elite talent, such as Bryce Underwood (No. 1 overall player in America), Jeremiah Beasley (top linebacker), and other highly ranked prospects from schools like Belleville, King, Cass Tech, and Warren De La Salle.
• The event has grown in scale, with over 32 schools participating in recent years and more than 80 players with Division I offers attending the fifth annual showcase.
